Here we have a beautiful early model quality porcelain AIREDALE TERRIER dog figurine (model No. 962) designed by Author Gredington for BESWICK of England from the "Champion Dog Series" titled
Cast Iron Monarch
who was also known as the
King of Terriers.
The under belly of this anatomically correct male dog is marked, "CH CAST IRON MONARCH" and under the front paw is marked, "BESWICK ENGLAND" (which is partially covered up with a green felt pad (photo #7...pad on all 4 paws.)
It measures approx. 5-1/2" high x 7" long x 2-1/4" wide.
It is in excellent maintained (displayed) condition with no chips or cracks or crazing, no damage noted. It is being offered in "as found" displayed condition.
Came from a private home collection of many years, however the exact age is unknown, pattern discontinued, production run 1941-1989. This item weighs approx. 1/2 lb., add 1-1/2 lbs. or so for the packing box and packing material, I combine shipping when safe and practical for all items purchased.
