    Description

A beautiful collectible set of four U.S. postage stamps issued in 1959 to honor Robert Peary, the first American to reach the North Pole in 1909, 50 years earlier and the USS Nautilus, the first submarine to cross under the pole in 1959.
The stamps feature a dogsled team resembling our current day Iditarod Race and Siberian Huskies.
These stamps have never been used and are as fresh as the day they were sold at the Post Office over 60 years ago!  Suitable for framing, they would make a great gift to anyone interested in the history of the Arctic or any Siberian Huskie owner!
