This glass rod scope has 6mm diameter 8" inch long rods that I cut from 5 foot long clear Pyrex rods which I then fire polish each end to make them round and safe to the touch.
The whole piece with the marble measures about 10-1/16" long {with the included marble} and about 1-1/2" diameter and the
marble which is about 1-1/8" diameter!
This scope has 15, 8" inch long {6mm diameter} fire polished glass rods !
The exterior of the scope has antiqued copper color plating in a great looking DNA like design ! !
Under the glass rods I have inserted an interesting grass like background sheet
that has been coated with a holographic spot sheet and reminds me of a psychedelic light show
and seems to dance when the scope is turned!
The interior is made with top grade first surface mirrors which give great images as seen in the photos.
The marble has a mix of many colors and shapes of transparent and opal end of day glasses !
The images are created by turning the marble with a finger (or 2) back and forth, up and down, and even sidewise and done with a 3 mirror system inside!
This has 3 copper rods bent to hold the marble in place and can be re-bent to change out other marbles ranging in size from 1-1/8" to 1-1/2" inch !
